Road Investment Strategy
We continue to support National Highways and the relevant Local Authorities in making the case for these much-needed schemes.
In August 2024, we published a report outlining the RIS schemes that we believe deserve investment across the region, which will create a more resilient road network that can support both the Midlands’ and national economy.
Delivering RIS 2
A number of Midlands projects earmarked for RIS 2 (2020-2025) will not be completed before the end of the period. We believe that these projects are of vital significance, and it is essential that these are completed during RIS 3 (2025-2030):
- A38 Derby junctions
- A46 Coventry junctions
- A46 Newark bypass
- M54 to M6 link road
RIS 3 and beyond
There are a number of other schemes we believe will unlock the full economic potential of the region and are proposing they are delivered in the next RIS (2025 to 2030).
- A1/A52 junction Improvement
- A46 improvement at Evesham
- A46 between Stratford and Warwick
- A46 improvement at Syston
- A483 Pant Llanymynech Bypass
- A5/A426 Gibbet Hill junction
- A5 Hinckley to Tamworth
- A50 Central Section
- Birmingham Motorway Box
- M1 junction 24
- M1 junction 28
- M1 improvements at Leicester
- M6 junction 15
